Ray Shero and Chuck Fletcher continue to build depth in the Penguin organization.
TIOPS
The Pens have signed Bill Thomas, or so it is rumored.
The deal is said to be one year, and a two way contract.
Thomas spent last year with Phoenix.
He grew up in Pittsburgh.
Thomas will be a great addition to the Wilkes Barre Penguins, and will be a good call-up.
My personal opinion is that he will be this year's Jeff Taffe.
Thomas will spend most of this season in the AHL, but when injuries strike, and you and I know they will, Thomas will be high on the list of minor leaguers to get the nod on the big club.
A very solid depth signing.
But then again, it is still a rumor.

I'm waiting until Empty-Netters or another source reports it, but it's not that big of a deal because of his status as a player.
Pittsburgh's Own Bill Thomas ... does sound right ... (might also be because I'm biased for another Pittsburgher ...)
You're right on the money with him being a Jeff Taffe ... maybe even a lesser role if injuries aren't bad like they were last season ...
haha Kaspar I just needed something to write.
But I do think he'll be here in the end even though it's TIOPS
