There are homerish Flyers, Lightning, Rangers, Senators, Canadiens, and Crapitals fans who have been preaching for some time now that the Penguins are a depleted team, and a team that will stink up the ice next season. Here's why the Penguins will still rule the conference-

Nice post ... some of them I disagree with (probably due to my bias ...) Gonchar is probably one of the best d-man in the NHL so I don't really consider anyone equal ...

I hate ovechkin but he'd have to be better than malkin.And we signed pesonen.
I just don't think as an overall player he's better than Geno.
IMO.
I agree with BigK ... Ovie's back-checking is okay and he isn't the all-around player that Geno or Sid is ... Ovechkin gets more attention due to his goal-scoring and offensive touch. I'm not saying Ovie can't play defense but whose poor defensive play cost the Caps to lose to the Flyers? Yep, Ovie ... the last goal in the last game was because Ovie wasn't playing the right defensive game. Sure, he's talented, but Geno makes up for his mistakes better than Ovechkin.
