The Penguins clinched into the second round of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a win in Philadelphia on Saturday, but with two other Eastern Conference series dragging to Game 7, the Pens will have to wait a few more days for the revelation of their second round foe.
Carolina beat New Jersey, 4-0, on Sunday to force the decisive final game in that series.
Earlier in the day, Washington beat New York, 5-3, sending that series to Game 7.
Both games will take place on Tuesday night, with the Caps-Rangers game on national television.
Here are the different scenarios, as they pertain to Pittsburgh:
- If Carolina and New York win, the Pens play Carolina in the second round.
- If Carolina and Washington win, the Penguins play Washington in the second round.
- If New Jersey and Washington win, the Penguins play Boston in the second round.
- If New Jersey and New York win, the Penguins play New Jersey in the second round.
Each of these teams has a 25 percent chance of facing off with the Penguins.
Personally, the preference would be for Carolina and New York to win, but how about you?

Yeah I agree with Carolina and New York winning. That'd probably be the best option
i'm gonna go for NJ and NY...i really do not want to play the Canes in the second round...
meanwhile, in the Western Conference, there are two incredibly intense games going on right now! AH!
