Game 51- Penguins @ Toronto Maple Leafs

The Penguins are in Toronto tonight for a clash with the lowly, yet hardworking Maple Leafs. The Leafs are coming off of a 7-4 win over the Colorado Avalanche, while the Penguins twice blew two goal advantages last night in a loss to the New Jersey Devils in overtime.

The Leafs have some studs on their blueline, but there's not much after that. Tomas Kaberle is a phenomenal player at both ends of the ice, and Pavel Kubina is a bigger, slightly less skilled version of Kaberle. Rookie Luke Schenn is the first key piece to GM Brian Burke's rebuild, and he's been rock solid all season long, though he did miss a good chunk of time with an injury.

Kaberle, though, is expected to miss four weeks with a hand ailment.

Mathieu Garon will get the start in goal for the Penguins tonight, his first go of it for the Pens since being traded from Edmonton for Ryan Stone, Dany Sabourin, and a 4th round pick in 2011 just days before the All-Star break.

It looks to be Vesa Toskala in goal for the Leafs.

Pittsburgh will get forward Matt Cooke back tonight after a two game supension for a hit on Carolina Hurricanes forward Scott Walker in the last game before the break.

Alex Goligoski will play right wing on the fourth line tonight in place of Paul Bissonnette, and the Penguins will decide who their other forward healthy scratch is at game time. My gut feeling, right now, is that Miro Satan is it.

Phillipe Boucher has played poorly enough to finally earn his own benching, and he'll be replaced by Hal Gill.

The Leafs will honor Doug Gilmour in a pregame ceremony before the 7:00 game.
