They dealt young center prospect Tim Brent to the Blackhawks, and coming the other way was a fighting defenseman with a bit of offensive touch.
I don't love this move, personally.
Brent had potential to be an everyday fourth line center for this team.
That is no longer the case.
While I hear that Richmond is a solid player, there doesn't seem to be much of a chance that he'll play in the NHL next year or ever for the Penguins, as a number of guys look to be ahead of him on the organizational depth chart, like Alex Goligoski, Derek Engelland, and Ben Lovejoy.
But we'll see how it plays out.
