Crosby quiets Philadelphian crowd as Penguins advance with comeback win

Danny Briere broke through the Pittsburgh Penguins' back line on the powerplay and beat Marc-Andre Fleury inside the right post to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-0 lead. As fans, most Pittsburghers sat back in horror and braced themselves for what seemed like an inevitable seventh game at Mellon Arena on Monday night.

Daniel Carcillo then did the Penguins a big favor. He dropped the gloves with Maxime Talbot, giving the Penguins' bench just a flicker of life. What followed was a comeback of epic proportions.

Ruslan Fedotenko pickle-stabbed a puck through Martin Biron just seconds after the Carcillo-Talbot scrap, and the momentum was in a full state of shift.

Mark Eaton then batted a puck out of mid-air off a 3 on 1 break from the blue line on in, slicing the Flyers' 3-2 lead in half and further planting a seed of doubt.

Sidney Crosby, who heard "Crosby Sucks" chants all series long, delivered the tying goal on another bat out of the air. Biron badly misplayed the puck, setting up the opportunity.

Sergei Gonchar delivered the dagger just minutes after the start of the final frame, drilling a slapshot that beat Biron cleanly. The play was set up by Evgeni Malkin, whose performance today ranks among the best of his career.

After a crossbar was hit by Darrol Powe, Fleury robbed Joffrey Lupul coming down the right wing with a beautfiul push across his crease.

The Flyers, with Biron pulled, lost the puck to Crosby in the neutral zone. 87 then circled the empty Philadelphia net and backhanded the puck in. It was the final nail in the coffin.
